LMU is the Community
Loyola Marymount University has been a proud member of Los Angeles’ Westchester neighborhood since 1929. Much of LMU’s oceanfront campus is free and open to the public, including the brand-new William H. Hannon Library.
In addition, the LMU family embodies a strong commitment to giving back to their community. In a typical year, students, faculty and staff volunteer more than 170,000 hours on behalf of some 350 different non-profit organizations throughout Los Angeles.
LMU is a vital economic presence, as well. After completion of the Master Plan, the university will generate approximately $520 million a year in Los Angeles County – including $100 million in student spending – and support some 6,100 jobs.
LMU was proud to be named a “Treasure of Los Angeles” in 2007 by the Central City Association.
